Lukebakio breaks the silence of the locker room: “Prestianni case? If it’s true, I can’t accept it.”

Benfica’s Belgian player comments on the alleged racism incident involving his teammate and Vinícius Júnior.
Dodi Lukebakio was not on the field when the major controversy occurred in the Benfica -Real Madrid match last Tuesday, but it was precisely he who replaced Gianluca Prestianni , accused of racism by Vinícius Júnior , in the 81st minute.
At the end of the match, most of the Eagles’ players preferred not to comment on the situation in much detail, unlike José Mourinho, but, a few hours before the second leg of the Champions League play-off at the Bernabéu, the Belgian broke his silence in the locker room and commented on the Argentine’s case in an interview with Pickx + Sports .
“I’ve talked a lot about this in the past with other people, wondering how I would react if this happened to me, because we usually experience this from afar,” admitted Lukebakio , who prefers, for now, to appear somewhat naive and believe in his colleague’s innocence, but not ruling out any possibility.
“It’s true that people talk and speculate, but ultimately, we don’t know what he really said. Is it the truth or was it exaggerated to take advantage of the situation? I think it’s also possible that Real Madrid wanted to use this to their advantage,” he said, leaving it open-ended but asking for consequences if it is confirmed.
“All I hope is that what he said is false. Because if it’s true, I can’t accept it. I’m against injustice. And every injustice deserves to face the consequences,” said the Brussels native, who could even start to replace Prestianni in the starting eleven. The Argentinian was provisionally suspended by UEFA and will miss Wednesday’s game.
